KINGSTON, Jamaica – The Minister of Tourism and Entertainment, Honorable Doctor Wykeham McNeill, during his trip to Haiti participated in a special meeting between representatives of the Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO) and the Cuban Tourism Minister in Port-au-Prince. Minister McNeill also participated in various UN World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) activities.
Minister of Tourism and Entertainment, Hon. Dr. Wykeham McNeill listened intently to Cuba’s Minister of Tourism, Manuel Marrero, as they discussed ways to foster Caribbean tourism through regional cooperation. The CTO Minister examined ways to enhance collaboration with countries in the region such as Cuba. The Hon. Dr. Wykeham McNeill raised important points as he moderated a panel discussion on “The Importance of Tourism routes as part of regional cooperation agreements.”
Minister McNeill and fellow Caribbean tourism ministers were in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, to participate in the international seminar “Multi-destination Opportunities for Regional Integration” held from May 19 to 22, 2015, as well as the 58th UNWTO Commission for the Americas. Both the commission meeting and the international seminar were jointly organized by the Haitian government and the UNWTO.
