DUBAI, United Arab Emirates – Dubai’s luxury hotel scene keeps growing: This week, ruler Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum approved the construction of a new resort on the Palm Jumeirah island by the Investment Corporation of Dubai (ICD).

With 800 rooms, suites and 250 luxury hotel apartments, Gulf Business estimates that the Royal Atlantis Resort and Residences will cost approximately $1.5 billion and will be developed in association with Kerzner International.

According to Hotelier Middle East, the resort will also include a Sky Pool nearly 300 feet above The Palm, as well as rooftop private gardens and private infinity pools overlooking the ocean and The Palm, as well as a Beach Club. Dining options are set to include “new world-class restaurants with award-winning celebrity chefs.”
