More flight options from Southampton to Aberdeen

Business and leisure travelers are set to be offered even more choice to Aberdeen as Eastern Airways introduces five flights each weekday from Southampton International Airport. The regional airlinewill increase services from three to five flights each weekday on the route from July 6, 2009 to meet the requirements of travelers. This latest introduction follows the recent announcement that the airline will be starting its first services from Southampton to Liverpool on July 6, 2009 with three flights each weekday in both directions.

Chris Holliday, Eastern Airways’ chief operating officer, said: “Our services between Southampton and Aberdeen have proved extremely popular, and we’re increasing the number of flights on the route to meet demand. With Aberdeen being one of Europe’s busiest oil centers, there’s been strong industry links in the energy sector between both regions for many years, and our new schedules are tailored to suit business and leisure travelers’ needs.”

Southampton Airport’s director of marketing & communications, Jan Halliday, said: “We welcome even more choice for passengers traveling between Southampton and Aberdeen. In addition to the oil industry links, the Hampshire and south coast region has, for many years, had important maritime links with northeast Scotland.”

Check-in is just 30 minutes before the departure time and fast track security channels at Southampton and Aberdeen airports allow Eastern Airways’ passengers to avoid any queues.

As well as launching new services to Liverpool from Southampton, the airline is introducing a new early morning departure from Southampton to Newcastle next month and also flies to Leeds Bradford.

Eastern Airways has provided important links from Southampton to key UK cities for over six years.
