Fashionable Chinese travelers to Europe can celebrate the China national October Golden Week holidays in style with exclusive offers and complementary gifts from McArthurGlen Designer Outlets, Europe’s largest designer outlet group.

McArthurGlen is teaming up with China UnionPay, China’s largest bankcard network, to offer Chinese guests a bespoke, leather McArthurGlen Golden Passport holder as well as a Fashion Passport enabling UnionPay cardholders to enjoy special discounts at 12 of the most popular designer outlets in Austria, Germany, Holland, Italy and the UK.

Between 27 September and 12 October 2014, Chinese travellers who present a UnionPay credit or debit card at the Information Desk at the 12 participating Designer Outlets will receive a Fashion Passport, enabling them to benefit from an extra 10% discount at selected stores. They will also receive a complementary cup of coffee, tea or soft drink to enjoy while taking a break from their luxury shopping.

Chinese shoppers in Austria, Germany, Holland and the UK will also receive a voucher entitling them to a limited-edition McArthurGlen Golden Passport holder when they spend EUR 250 or GBP 200 in the UK (available in Italy with no minimum spend).

The 12 McArthurGlen centers participating in the Golden Week Fashion Passport promotion in association with China UnionPay are:

Austria: Parndorf (Vienna) and Salzburg

Germany: Berlin and Neumünster (Hamburg)

Holland: Roermond (Düsseldorf)

Italy: Barberino (Florence), Castel Romano (Rome), La Reggia (Naples), Noventa di Piave (Venice) and Serravalle (Milan)

UK: Cheshire Oaks (Manchester) and York

McArthurGlen offers more outlet shopping in Europe than any other operator. The centers offer a perfect day-out for fashion-loving travelers seeking the most sought-after luxury and designer brands with all-year savings of 30-70% in a premium shopping environment. The centers are increasingly popular with Chinese shoppers, who accounted for over 20% of all tax-free sales at McArthurGlen’s Designer Outlets in 2013.

To meet the needs of Chinese shoppers, McArthurGlen offers tax-free shopping and a range of tailored services. These include Chinese-language websites, social media, guides and maps, and shuttle services from key city locations to/from the centers. Training is provided for retail staff on how to exceed the service expectations of Chinese shoppers, and China UnionPay bankcards are accepted at brand stores across the 20 centers.
