ITALY (eTN) – On July 24, 2014 the opening to the public of Cinecitta World kicked off. Cinecitta World is the first theme park in Italy dedicated to the world of cinema. It was designed by three-time Oscar winner Dante Ferretti and with the soundtrack of Oscar winner Ennio Morricone which is dedicated to the western area of the park.

Cinecitta World, located in Castel Romano, near Rome, offers 20 attractions, 8 movie sets, 4 theaters for shows of great impact (including the permanent showing of “Enigma” signed by Filmmaster Events), 4 themed restaurants, and different quality food areas. Parents and children alike will enjoy the whole experience together or play in their own favorite subject area, and there is a dedicated area for the younger ones (from one meter in height).

The investment for the park amounted to 250 million euro, allowing direct and indirect employment of approximately 1,000 employees, and was carried out by IEG-Italian Entertainment Group whose main shareholders are Louis Fir, Andrea and Diego Della Valle, Aurelio e Luigi De Laurentiis and Family Haggiag with the participation of Generali Properties. In 2015, more than 1,500,000 visitors are expected with a turnover estimated at approximately 55 million euro.

The park will be open every day from 10 am to 11 pm. With over 260 days of foreseen running, Cinecitta World ranks as one of the parks with the longest opening season in Europe.
