On July 14, 2014 put your eyes on France where you will find “My Photo in France,” the Paris Match magazine event with a formidable challenge – to create the largest photo album of France in one day!
The date of this event is a France national holiday, Paris Match magazine is seeking a unique and common effort to unify through a fraternal and generous project, the sociological and historical participation of all things French.
Reunion Island Tourisme (IRT) is asking all photographers – professional and amateur, anonymous and celebrities, young and old – to witness a moment, a look, captured on Reunion Island on July 14 and post the photos to the event website: www.mafrance.photo
Throughout the day, Paris Match will build in real time, the first Virtual Photo Album of France. Historical, journalistic, popular, and sociological, this event will reveal the largest photo album of France ever made in a single day, and everyone can add his or her own personal contribution.
This initiative, supported by media group Lagardere, network France Television, and all partner sites, will be broadcast live from a stage set up in Paris to the Pont de l’Alma on a giant screen where all pictures come live throughout the day on Monday, July 14, 2014.
This exceptional photo album will be studied sociologically and photographically by the National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS) and archived at the Library of France as a great heritage and historical photographic document of a day in France in 2014.
The week after July 14, Paris Match will also publish the “best of” of this mosaic of French photos, with testimonies. A projection in large format, as part of Visa pour l’Image Perpignan 2014, will summarize the Tour de France in pictures. And, on the occasion of Paris Photo, the Salon de la Photo will present the exhibition of hundreds of pictures from “My Photo in France.”
