President Dr. Jorge Carlos De Almeida Fonseca, the President of the Republic of Cabo Verde, was this week welcomed by Minister Alain St.Ange, the Seychelles Minister responsible for Tourism and Culture, as he arrived at the International Creole Institute in the Seychelles. President Dr. Jorge Carlos De Almeida Fonseca arrived with his delegation which included Minister Humberto Brito, Cabo Verde’s Minister for Tourism, Industry and Energy, and Mr. Jose Ulisses Correia e Silva, the Mayor of Praia, the Capital City of Cabo Verde among others.

Present at the International Creole Institute was Minister Jean-Paul Adam, the Seychelles Minister for Foreign Affairs; Benjamine Rose, the PS for Culture; and Penda Choppy, the Director of the International Creole Institute. When he welcomed the President of Cabo Verde, Minister St.Ange of the Seychelles who was speaking in Creole said that it was important for Cabo Verde, a Creole Island itself, to feel part of the International Creole Institute and for them to one day work with Seychelles to have a dedicated room called the “Cabo Verde Room” where books, music CDs, the island’s flag, and a picture of the Head of State can be displayed. It will also be the opportunity for the culinary delights of Cabo Verde to be part of the menu of Creole dishes served at that Institute.
