“City Sand” brings the beach to Harborplace and The Gallery in Baltimore with amazing sand sculptures, live music and other fun family activities on Saturday, June 27. Eight to ten teams of architects, builders and design professionals will use more than 25 tons of sand to create spectacular, multi-dimensional sand sculptures while incorporating the 2009 theme, Edgar Allan Poe, in honor of the Baltimore poet’s 200th birthday. The event begins at Noon with team sand sculpture building, along with an afternoon of musical entertainment, culminating with a Jimmy Buffet tribute by the Key West Band from 8pm to 11pm.
