PRAGUE – “We decided to join the Global Science & Convention Alliance because we believe that strategic partnerships of this kind are extremely important for future development of convention industry in the city. Moreover, it will also help us increase visibility of Prague as a meeting destination in the world,” says Lenka Žlebková, Managing Director of Prague Convention Bureau, commenting on the recent union with Prague Convention Bureau. “Thanks to the exchange and sharing leads with other member´s convention bureaus, we will manage to extend our business opportunities in the field of association meetings and conventions.”

Prague Convention Bureau has recently joined the Global Science & Convention Alliance, a group of cities that are trying to work together to target the association clients in the field of science & research, IT and technology, and other major fields, namely Toulouse, Hyderabad, Adelaide, and Daejeon. The alliance´s objective is to secure future events and enhance destination experience through exchanging and sharing leads and information pertaining to convention opportunities between alliance members.

Founded by four progressive international convention bureaus, the Global Science & Convention Alliance is a platform comprising of convention bureaus with common strengths in scientific innovation and research collaborating to promote their respective destinations to conventions relating to these industries. The alliance allows partners to conduct and share detailed event research that lead to the creation of innovation destination proposals.

All destinations are small to medium global cities, geographically unique and rich in history and culture. “This year, we have launched cooperation with the Inovacentrum, the Technology and Innovation Centre at the Czech Technical University in Prague, the most prestigious technical university in the Czech Republic, and the Academy of Science of the Czech Republic with the strategic aim to attract association congresses and conferences to Prague that will increase competitiveness of the whole country,” says Lenka Žlebková.
