The number of flights running between Salzburg and London is set to increase this coming winter, British Airways has announced.

From the end of October there will be a daily flight between Salzburg and London’s Gatwick airport.

From the middle of December, as the winter season really kicks in, up to nine flights per week will run between Salzburg and London. Five of these flights will be run during the week and two will run on both Saturdays and Sundays, an extra four services compared to the previous winter.

New winter sports resorts have attracted increasing number of visitors from Britain to western Austria and the airline say they expect in the coming winter there will be even more holidaymakers looking to come to Salzburg from Great Britain.

The main attraction for the guests is still the Salzburg Festival and the winter sport offers, according to the airline.
