Moldovia declared itself an independent state with the same boundaries as the Moldavian Soviet Socialist Republic in 1991 as part of the dissolution of the Soviet Union. The train would have traveled through the Ukraine.
According to Russian Media RT, three casualties are accounted for at this time. Russia’s Emergencies Ministry confirmed the accident.
It’s not known how many tourists or foreigners were on board the passenger train.
