A major crash between a passenger train and a freight train may have left passengers dead or injured. According to an eTN source in Moscow, the press center for the Moscow police department identified the train as the Moscow-Chisina express. Chisina is in Moldovia.

Moldovia declared itself an independent state with the same boundaries as the Moldavian Soviet Socialist Republic in 1991 as part of the dissolution of the Soviet Union. The train would have traveled through the Ukraine.
