The association “After the Dream” celebrates the 10th anniversary of the Adventure Film Festival on Reunion Island from May 14-23.

The association “After the Dream” celebrates the 10th anniversary of the Adventure Film Festival on Reunion Island from May 14-23. The program includes meetings with adventurers who came to present their films and witness their epics, providing a rich overview of these expeditions.

From Saturday, May 17, to Friday, May 30, 2014, participants will board for an adventure with a film festival of the same name. The association “After the Dream” invites the public to see on the big screen adventures of the guests of the 10th edition of the Reunion Island Film Festival Adventure. This year, 6 films are competing in the festival.

The inauguration of the festival took place on Saturday, May 17, and Sunday, May 18, 2014, in the presence of Karina Hollekim, guest of honor at the event. Six films in the “Audience Award” were projected on a giant screen on the beach in Cape Lobster Saint-Gilles. These films were: Maud Fontenoy a Contre-Courant, Asiemut, 20 Seconds of Joy, Coast to Coast, Paris-Jerusalem 6000 km walk, and L’Ecole des Hauts.

Projections of the films in competition will be held at the Theatre Luc Donat from May 21 to 23 and at Champ Fleuri from May 28 to 30 in the presence of the adventurers.

For those with a passion for extreme sensations and the unknown, the Adventure Film Festival is must-attend event. For this 10th edition, the festival takes the audience along for 1300-km kite surfing along the Brazilian coast, for the crossing of the Cordillera Darwin, in the heart of the Chilean Fire Earth, on the trail of Rodrigues onboard a schooner, on a 500-m Venezuelan wall, and in search of a Coelacanth sea legend 120 meters deep.

Laurent Ballesta, a Scientific Advisor for the marine environment on the TV show “Ushuaia Nature” on TF1 alongside Nicolas Hulot, will be present the professional diver who set up and led the expedition Gombessa, to meet the Coelacanth and published the book of the same name at the beginning of 2014.
