Minister Ramarcel Benjamina Ramanantsoa, the Madagascar Minister Tourism, on Tuesday welcomed Minister Alain St.Ange, the Seychelles Minister for Tourism and Culture, and President Didier Robert, the President of the Regional Council of La Reunion, as they arrived in Madagascar for the 2014 elections for the President of the Indian Ocean Vanilla Islands which will be taking place at the same time as the Tourism Trade Fair of Madagascar.

The Tourism Trade Fair of Madagascar appears on the Calendar of Events of the Indian Ocean Vanilla Islands together with the Seychelles Carnaval International de Victoria (April), the Comoros Cultural & Gastronomic Fiesta (August), and the La Reunion Festival Liberte Metisse (December).

Minister Ramarcel Benjamina Ramanantsoa was accompanied by Eric Koller, the President of Madagascar Tourism, and Vola Raveloson, the CEO of Madagascar Tourism.

The elections for the post of President of the Indian Ocean Vanilla Islands is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, May 14, at the Colbert Hotel in Antananarivo of Madagascar. Minister Michael Sik Yuen of Mauritius, President Didier Robert of La Reunion, and Minister Ramarcel Benjamina Ramanantsoa of Madagascar are all three candidates for the position which will be vacated by Minister Alain St.Ange of the Seychelles whose mandate has now come to its end.

Minister St.Ange was re-elected for a second term at exactly the same time last year in Antananarivo in Madagascar when ministers and senior officials from the Indian Ocean Vanilla Islands gathered for the 2013 edition of the Madagascar Tourism Fair and for the Ministerial Meeting of the Vanilla Islands as per the invitation issued by Vola Raveloson from Madagascar Tourism.
