Germanwings has come out with flying colors from a recent test being named “Best Low Cost Airline” by the German Public Radio Station SWF3. The tester flew with the German airline from Stuttgart to Palma de Mallorca and certified that the airline offered an excellent quality of product to guests on board.

Germanwings scored a good rating in terms of price and an excellent score for booking, check-in and boarding. It went on to receive top marks for safety, punctuality, service and comfort. In the overall comparison of all airlines, Germanwings scored a very worthy 156 points, making it the second best airline in the test series.

In particular the tester praised the idea of the Smart tariff, where the customer can enjoy the full range of services of a classic airline for only a small extra charge: baggage allowance, choice of seat, snacks and drinks. “You can actually forget that you are on board a low-cost airline.” The crew also made a good impression: “very friendly, everything has quite a sophisticated look to it and it doesn’t give the impression of low cost flights at all.”
