Reunion Island Tourism (IRT) headed for Cape Town to participate in the World Travel Market Africa (WTM Africa) on May 2 and 3, 2014.

Reunion Island Tourism (IRT) headed for Cape Town to participate in the World Travel Market Africa (WTM Africa) on May 2 and 3, 2014. This first Africa edition for the B2B tourism sector, welcomed industry professionals, travel agents, tour operators, and the media, providing an opportunity for meeting destination in the development of South African market .

The Cape Town Convention Center hosted WTM Africa with a 24m² stand dedicated to Reunion Island where the IRT engaged Anthurium hotel, Creoles hotel, Tropic Condo hotel, Archipelago, and regional airline Air Austral in providing more than a hundred appointments in two days of the show. The majority of meetings were held with professionals from South Africa and East Africa but also in Europe and Latin America.

This show was an opportunity for Reunion Island destination meeting providers to announce the launch of a campaign on social networks for a period of three months, as well as present a new video and new destination meeting campaign on the South African market. A press conference was well attended by 25 of the most influential personalities of tourism in South Africa, including bloggers, and enjoyed over lunch filled with the colors and flavors of Reunion Island.

The first edition of WTM Africa was a resounding success according to the exhibitors who were unanimous about the quality of scheduled appointments. Reunion Island Tourism will also be at the Indaba Lounge in Durban at the H25 stand May 10-12, 2014, so come by for a visit.
