Keys tourism board apologizes for mocking Fay

The Florida Keys tourism bureau is apologizing in advance for offending all of the Fays in the world with the island chain’s new radio ad making fun of the recently departed tropical storm.

The Florida Keys tourism bureau is apologizing in advance for offending all of the Fays in the world with the island chain’s new radio ad making fun of the recently departed tropical storm. ”Fay complains to the condo board when you don’t wear a bathing cap,” declares the ad. “Fay sends back soup for being cold.”

Created by Miami’s Tinsley Advertising for the Keys tourism bureau, the ad airing on Broward and Miami-Dade stations tries to dismiss Tropical Storm Fay (and Fays in general) as annoying, but not harmful.

Fay forced a three-day evacuation of tourists that ended Wednesday, and Keys marketers want would-be visitors to know the storm left almost no damage.
