BANGKOK, Thailand – The Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) has launched the PATA Intern and Associate Program.

BANGKOK, Thailand – The Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) has launched the PATA Intern and Associate Program. The initiative will help enthusiastic, hard-working and highly motivated students who want practical experience working in a leading international travel industry organisation.

The intern programme puts into practise PATAโ€™s Human Capital Development strategy to help young people become rising stars of the travel industry.

The program is designed to attract intern associates of different nationalities from various destinations and backgrounds. PATA intern associates will be required to perform operational and administrative tasks at PATA Headquarters in Bangkok.

Ms Parita Niemwongse, Manager โ€“ Human Capital Development Projects and Awards, said: โ€œThe interns will be guided by professionals in the travel and tourism industry. An internship complements good grades and university credits. It is a terrific foundation on which young people can build their network and advance their careers.โ€

The objective of the program is to give intern associates a first-hand experience working with inspirational professionals and senior management. Students will be exposed to PATA activities including advocacy, events, human capital development, membership, research, multimedia production, and sustainability challenges. Interns and associates will play an important role in organising PATA events and contributing to organisational efficiencies.

PATA is a member of the International Coalition of Tourism Partners (ICTP) .
