ISLAMABAD, Pakistan – According to sources, Pakistan Prime Minister Mian Nawaz Sharif has been informed by the committee dealing with negotiations with Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) that the TTP has indicated outlines of its demands for a pre-negotiation phase including their demands.

Negotiation will take a low profile, and the government will release TTP members currently in jails and waiting for hanging after their convection from courts. The TTP leadership wishes that release of its members from jails will not be shared with the media. The TTP also wishes that army check posts in and around North and South Waziristan will be removed.

According to sources, the TTP Shura has informed committee members that serious negotiations will be started after the government shows these goodwill gestures and release its members from jail. However, sources had no information as to how many and who will be released from jails. There are around 4,000 alleged TTP members in Pakistan jails. Some sources close to Jamaat-i-Islami Pakistan (JI) are saying that TTP leaders who were convicted by the courts for the death penalty will be pardoned by the President of Pakistan to kick off negotiations.
