The East African Tourism Platform, the regional tourism private sector apex body, will in conjunction with the Kenya Tourism Board launch a series of workshops in Uganda and Rwanda, offering Kenya Destination specialist training programs. Three sessions have so far been announced, one each in Entebbe and Kampala on February 5 and 6, respectively, and one in Kigali on February 27.

With the single tourist visa for Kenya, Rwanda and Uganda now coming into effect, it was felt that it is not only the right time but increasingly necessary to equip the regional tourism and travel trade with knowledge on the various destinations within the East African Community so as to enhance their skills to better sell and package other destinations for their domestic, regional and international market. This will not only help the tourism trade to serve their clients better, but will also grow their businesses as their product range will be expanded. The workshops also aim to encourage and improve Business2Business, in short B2B partnerships which are thought to be a key ingredient in multi country packages offered to international tourist visitors.
