ARLINGTON, VA – ARC, the financial settlement link between airlines and travel sellers, reported today the consolidated dollar value of airline tickets sold by U.S.-based travel agencies increased 1.85 percent year-over-year in 2013 compared to 2012. Ticket sales for 2013 totalled $86.2 billion, compared to $84.5 billion in 2012, and $82.1 billion in 2011. Sales for December 2013 totalled $5.3 billion, an increase of 10.7 percent compared to December 2012.

Ticket transactions in 2013 decreased by 0.30 percent against 2012, while transactions in 2012 were down by 0.47 percent compared to 2011. Passenger segments in 2013 decreased 0.16 percent at 363.9 million, compared to 369.9 million in 2012 and 370.4 million in 2011.
