Designer’s night out in Madrid
Madrid has always been a meeting point for very different people. New venues are continuously opening up with new offers to spice up the night.
Madrid has always been a meeting point for very different people. New venues are continuously opening up with new offers to spice up the night. Live music, elaborate decor and lighting, signature cocktails or resident DJs are some of the proposals served by the most “chic” venues in the capital.
Warmth and Distinction
A great deal of glamour and well-established aesthetics were combined to create La Posada de las Animas, a young venue that has recently arrived in Madrid from other cities like Valencia or Vigo. Following the decorative lines marked by its predecessors, La Posada de las Animas has created an elegant space that aims to position itself as a key location on a night route around the Salamanca quarter.
Red is the predominant color in two of the three spaces in the venue. Tapestries and velvet curtains, alongside the large chandeliers hanging from the ceiling, create a warm, select and inviting atmosphere to spend long hours in. The third area, the VIP room, breaks away from the rest of the venue, with more sophisticated aesthetics and a diaphanous space, with a prevalence of white.
Latin rhythms were the source of inspiration that pushed interior designer Tomas Alia to devise the decoration of the Larios Cafe, a task that was recognized with the 2000 National Interior Architecture Award. The venue spreads out over 1,200 square meters distributed on two floors; the first accommodates a bar-restaurant, whilst the ground floor is home to the club.
The whole venue maintains an aesthetic harmony marked by Art-deco and by clean spaces that give a sensation of vastness without seeming cold. A large steel door welcomes customers and leads on to the main bar and the restaurant, in a space limited by resin columns, steel and glass panels and finished off with 1950s style furniture.
The truth is that Larios Cafe has borne the customers they cater for in mind and created an atmosphere that is emphasized by the low lighting, creating the ideal setting for tropical milkshakes or mojitos at the bar, Cuban cuisine at the restaurant and the Cuban beats in the live performances and the Latin music that is played in the club.
