Centara Hotels & Resorts of Thailand will be opening the first overseas property in its serviced apartments portfolio in January 2014, with the five-star Centara Grand Azuri Residence & Suites Mauritius apartment and townhouse complex on the northeast coast of the island.

The residential development is set directly on the beach and is part of the new Azuri oceanfront village, a 420-acre development that is home to luxury residences, retail outlets and marine services.

Centara Grand Azuri Residence & Suites Mauritius is adjacent to the five-star Centara Grand Azuri Resort & Spa Mauritius, which opened in December 2013, and residents will have complete access to the facilities of the sister resort.

โ€œThis is a very significant moment for our Residence & Suites brand, taking us overseas for the first time and with the beautiful, high profile setting of Azuri oceanfront village,โ€ says Thirayuth Chirathivat, chief executive officer of Centara Hotels & Resorts.

โ€œWe believe the serviced apartments concept complements perfectly the facilities of our new resort, and is also ideal for Azuri itself, offering a luxurious home-from-home for those who wish for a long-stay holiday, or who prefer self-catering and completely independent living.”

The development is located in the heart of the village, 25 kilometres from the capital city of Port Louis and just over one-hourโ€™s drive from the international airport.

Centara Grand Azuri Residence & Suites Mauritius consists of 44 spacious apartments, penthouses and townhouses, and forms an intimate community located near to Azuri’s food market, shops and restaurants.

With a pristine beach embraced by a sparkling lagoon the residences will be a perfect retreat for couples and a fun place for families.

โ€œAzuri village is very much a residential development, and with our serviced apartments concept our residents can choose short-term or long-term stays, and feel completely at home,โ€ says Chris Bailey, senior vice president for sales and marketing at Centara Hotels & Resorts.

“We feel the residences will appeal to couples, families, groups of friends travelling together, and also to the corporate sector.”

The residences are grouped into zones and offer a variety of accommodation options with two, three or four bedrooms and spacious outdoor areas, with some offering a private plunge pool.

Each residential zone has its own swimming pool complete with terraces to relax in intimate surroundings.

Residents enjoy the complimentary activities of sister resort Centara Grand Azuri Resort & Spa Mauritius, including non-motorised water sports such as kayaking, windsurfing and dinghy sailing, and use of the tennis court, archery range, beach games and soft-play games.

Other activities that can be arranged include quad trails, mountain biking, a climbing wall, zip line, go-karting, off-road scooters, and an assault course.

Azuri Yacht Club is nearby and will arrange excursions including catamaran trips to the islands of Coin de Mire, Round Island, Flat Island, Ile dโ€™Ambre and Ilot Gabriel

The Yacht Club will also arrange a selection of adrenaline packed activities, such as parasailing, undersea walking and underwater scooters, hiking and mountaineering, canyoning, and skydiving.

The residence is a 20-minute drive away from the vibrant town of Grand Baie with its numerous dining and shopping opportunities
