Santa Fe, N.M.—Top Frogville artists will be performing at Frogfest 3, Saturday, August 23, including Nathan Moore, Taarka, Boris and the Saltlicks, Hundred Year Flood, Bill Hearne Trio, Xoe Fitzgerald the Time Travelling Transvestite, and Goshen.

“We’d like to thank all Frogville lovers for five years of love and support,” says John Treadwell, founder of Santa Fe’s own Frogville Records. “We’ll be celebrating Frogville Records’ 5th anniversary with an 8-hour music festival on Saturday, August 23, 4 p.m. to midnight at the Santa Fe Brewing Company.”

Frogville Records has had a number of major successes in these five short years. Frogville is now heard on over 125 radio stations in the United States and Europe. Boris & the Saltlicks’ new album went to No. 2 on the Euro-Americana Chart in May 2008. Goshen just played their second successful year at the North Mississippi Hill Country Blues Festival. Grammy award winning producer Andy Kravitz produced the new Hundred Year Flood album and a track on Boris McCutcheon’s new album with the legendary Taj Mahal, who joined Boris McCutcheon and Hundred Year Flood as a special guest on one track for each album. Both albums will be released in fall 2008.
Another exciting item is that Nathan Moore has just been named the 2008 Telluride Bluegrass Festival Troubadour winner.

“Nathan Moore played a wonderful set of music at the Telluride Bluegrass Festival,” says Steve Szymanski, Planet Bluegrass vice president. “Songwriters and bands from around the country took part in the national competition. We enjoyed listening to the nearly 700 entries we received this year from around the world. The quality and creativity of Nathan Moore thoroughly impressed us. Anyone that is lucky enough to hear him play live shouldn’t miss the opportunity.”

Frogfest 3 promises to be this summer’s most exciting local music event. “This is one of the must see concerts of the summer,” says Scott Hutton of Hutton Broadcasting. Two of Hutton’s stations, 98.1 Radio Free Santa Fe and Project 101.5, are sponsors of the event “8 hours of Santa Fe’s best acoustic singer-song-writer bands jamming blues and bluegrass on one stage at The Santa Fe Brewing Company, that’s hot! These artists are starting a music movement in the southwest that people will be listening to for many years. Be there when it happens.”
