The FBI is working with the Los Angeles Police Department in the ongoing investigation of what is now the second dry ice bomb to explode at the Los Angeles Airport (LAX). Three more dry ice bombs have been found that had not yet exploded.
The first bomb exploded and Sunday, and this second bomb exploded on Monday outside the Tom Bradley Terminal in an area of the airport that is accessible only to those who work at the airport near an airport gate. Although this type of bomb does not cause much damage and nobody has been injured, it is still cause for concern. The first bomb exploded in a menโs restroom.
The simple bombs have been made by capping dry ice into 20-ounce plastic bottles. It is not believed the bombs are linked to any terroristic acts.
