Grupo Aeromexico reports 10.6 percent increase in passengers

MEXICO CITY, Mexico – Grupo Aeromexico S.A.B. de C.V., the largest global airline in Mexico, reports operating statistics for September 2013.

Grupo Aeromexico’s total number of passengers transported during September 2013 increased by 10.6% year-on-year, the highest monthly growth rate of the year, reaching a total of one million 258 thousand passengers. Demand in September increased 8.7% year-on-year; a record high growth rate for a month since February 2012. Aeromexico’s capacity, measured in Available Seat Kilometers (ASKs), increased 4.6% year-on-year. The September load factor was therefore 75.1%; a 2.9 percentage point increase, year-on-year.

Year to date, Aeromexico achieved an 11.2 percentage point improvement year-on-year in on-time departure, reaching 89.5%.

“Load Factor” equals the number of passengers transported as a percentage of the number of seats offered. It is a measure of the airline’s capacity utilization. This metric takes into account the total passengers transported and total seats available in itinerary flights.

“Passengers” refers to the total number of passengers transported by the airline.

“On-time Departure performance” is based on the number of Grupo Aeromexico flights departing within 15 minutes of scheduled time.
