A ministry of tourism should be set up to manage public state property, Rumen Draganov, Director of the Institute for Analyses and Assessments in Tourism, said in an interview with FOCUS News Agency.
According to him public state property should include management based on public-private partnerships and related with public procurements and it should create jobs in tourist attractions – cultural and natural, intangible cultural heritage in the country.
We should remove this noose around the neck of all investors in tourism who operate with an average employment of 33%, while the necessary minimum is 66% in order to make sure investments will pay off and while Europe’s average employment is 75%. Bulgaria is a losing tourist destination in Europe, as it does not take the money invested in hotels, restaurants, infrastructure, telecommunications, banks, labor and education of tourism personnel, he said.
