Skytrax CEO, Edward Plasteid, and Richard Quest of CNN personally handed the award to the Director of Service of Garuda Indonesia Inc., Faik Fahmi, during the “Airline Passenger Experience Association (APEX) Award Ceremony” in Anaheim, California, USA, on September 9, 2013.

The winner of each category was decided through a flight experience satisfactory survey conducted on all airlines passengers worldwide. While the survey itself was conducted online via www.passengerchoiceawards.com during the course between mid-2012 to June 30, 2013. The results of the survey were then tabulated by the Nielsen Company Global Survey Institute.
