Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, is collaborating with landmark bakery, Georgetown Cupcake, to prepare specially-themed ‘Swim, Ride, Run – Tri More’ cupcakes to promote the sporting activities taking place in Washington, D. C. this weekend.

To ensure the message gets through, the sporty slogan adorns the outside of the company’s flagship shop in Georgetown, the t-shirts worn by its staff, and the commemorative boxes full of cupcakes purchased by customers.

Etihad Airways worked closely with the chefs at the cupcakery in selecting the best ingredients to create four beautifully presented cupcakes to celebrate the occasion; Georgetown Cupcake’s Red Velvet, Salted Caramel, Lava Fudge, and Vanilla & Buttercream cupcakes, adorned with customised commemorative fondant sugar decorations.
Anticipating the strong response, Etihad Airways also flew in some of its cabin crew from Abu Dhabi to help staff at the shop serve the larger-than-usual numbers of people who came to purchase the special cupcakes.

Etihad Airways also ran a competition for people visiting the Georgetown Cupcake shop over the weekend, with one lucky winner being presented with tickets for two to Abu Dhabi, plus complimentary hotel accommodation.
