NEW YORK, NY – Arik Air, West and Central Africa’s largest airline, sponsored the landmark One Africa Music Festival which took place at the Barclay’s Center in New York, in line with their commitment to the community.

The One Africa Music Festival partnered with Arik Air and flew in some of Nigeria’s top entertainers including Tiwa Savage, Banky W, Davido, Flavour, Wizkid and more.

“Arik Air remains dedicated to partnering with the community and raising the visibility of Nigerian culture to audiences in the US. Our support of the One Africa Music Fest has enabled Nigerian artists to perform at the Barclays Center for the first time allowing them to reach new audiences and we are very proud to be a part of history in the making,” said Robert Brunner, Vice President The America’s, Arik Air.

This year Arik Air has sponsored a large number of Nigerian performers underlining the airlines commitment to cultural exchange between US and Nigerian audiences. To date this year the airline has sponsored Nigerian artists Olamide, KCEE and King Sonny’s US tour which started last month. In addition to supporting the One African Music Fest this month, the airline also supported top Nigerian comedian Basketmouth and upcoming artist Flavour in coming to the US this month.

In addition to cultural events, Arik Air recently supported a US medical mission securing medical treatment for conjoined Nigerian twins Miracle and Testimony Ayeni in partnership with the Linking Hands Foundation, a Nigerian based non-governmental organization. The airline supported the mission alongside Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital, Tennessee, which secured free surgery and care.

This year Arik Air will celebrate 10 years of operations and seven years of operating into John F. Kennedy (JFK) airport. The airline remains the only West African airline to fly directly to JFK while also providing convenient connections to West and Central Africa.
