The Pacific International, Cairns’ Conference Specialist, has today announced the appointment of Lynda Marsen to the role of sales manager.

The Pacific International, Cairns’ Conference Specialist, has today announced the appointment of Lynda Marsen to the role of sales manager.

Her role will be to raise the visibility of the new multi-million dollar conference and events facilities, which were opened in June last year, while also being responsible for new and existing clients.
Vernon Hyden, director of sales at the Pacific International Cairns, said Lynda was a welcome addition to the team, having already been part of the Pacific International family for the last eight years.

“There isn’t much Lynda doesn’t know about the hotel. The professionalism and dedication Lynda brings, along with the history she shares with us, made her the clear choice for this role,” he said.
For Lynda, to be given the chance to step up into the role of sales manager, was an incredible opportunity.

She has almost 30 years’ experience working in executive assistant roles, first in Brisbane and then later in Cairns at the Pacific International under executive directors Paul and Mark Kamsler.

“Having worked as the executive assistant, I was required from time to time to step into roles when people were away ill or on annual leave.

“I said to Mark Kamsler that if the sales manager position ever came available I would love to be considered.”

Describing her role as incredibly “diverse,” there is nothing more rewarding for Lynda than meeting new and existing clients for anything from weddings, Christmas functions, and private parties to larger conferences and making sure everything they expected of the Pacific International was met and exceeded.

“Not only do I have the opportunity to showcase state of the art conference facilities, I also get to work alongside a very experienced and highly professional banquet team and catering division, who all contribute to the success of the Pacific International in their own way,” Lynda added.
