Alaska Airlines launches new flight to Kona, Hawaii

SEATTLE, WA – Alaska Airlines announced today that it will begin weekly flights between Bellingham, Washington and Kona on the Big Island of Hawaii.

SEATTLE, WA – Alaska Airlines announced today that it will begin weekly flights between Bellingham, Washington and Kona on the Big Island of Hawaii. The nonstop, seasonal service to Kona begins November 12 and ends April 1, 2017.

“Our customers living in Northwest Washington and in British Columbia, Canada, will soon be able to enjoy convenient access to some of Hawaii’s best snorkeling and the world-famous Kilauea volcano with our new Bellingham-based flights,” said John Kirby, the airline’s vice president of capacity planning.

The flights will be operated with Boeing 737-800 aircraft, accommodating 16 passengers in first class and 147 in the main cabin.

With the new weekly Kona flight, Alaska will offer nine peak-season flights from Bellingham, which includes five, year-round daily flights to Seattle and one year-round daily flight to Portland, Oregon; as well as seasonal daily service to Las Vegas and seasonal, four-times weekly service to Maui.
