Paul Malcolm named new Head of Sales for Hilton Worldwide in Europe

FRANKFURT AM MAIN, Germany – Hilton Worldwide announced in the last week the appointment of Paul Malcom as Head of Sales for Europe.

FRANKFURT AM MAIN, Germany – Hilton Worldwide announced in the last week the appointment of Paul Malcom as Head of Sales for Europe. After 30 years at Marriott International, Malcom will take over in June 2013 as the Head of Sales Development and Customer Service Platforms from Hilton Worldwide. Malcolm’s entry conditions are favorable, with Hilton Worldwide being one of the world’s fastest-growing hotel companies; one in five hotel rooms under construction in Europe will open as a brand of Hilton Worldwide.

In his new position, Malcolm takes over the task of supporting the high-performance teams with his long experience in the market and will drive exceptional growth of the company for the entire European region. Special attention will be paid to the growing franchise Hilton Worldwide portfolio in Europe, which accounts for nearly 40 percent of all currently operating and planned hotels in the region.

Malcolm will report directly to Mark Wang, President of Global Sales and Hilton Grand Vacations. As a member of the European Executive Committee, he will also work closely with Simon Vincent, President EMEA, Hilton Worldwide. Malcolm is headquartered in the European headquarters of Hilton Worldwide in Hertfordshire, UK.

Paul Malcolm began his career in 1981 as Director of Sales at the InterContinental Hotel in Athens. Then he joined Marriott Hotels in Athens as a Director of Sales and Marketing and has held a number of positions at the hotel chain, from the Director of Sales and Marketing in Warsaw and Amsterdam to transnational duties in Egypt and Western Europe. Malcolm was recently hired as Vice President, Sales Europe, at Marriott International.

Hilton Worldwide currently operates over 240 hotels in Europe. In recent months, the company opened in the region with exceptional properties such as the Conrad Algarve in Portugal, The Morrison, a Kimpton Hotel in Dublin, and the Hilton Garden Inn Seville in Spain.
