Reunion Island to celebrate on World Oceans Day

To fans of science and the underwater world, World Oceans Day is cause to celebrate, and Reunion Island plans to do just that.

To fans of science and the underwater world, World Oceans Day is cause to celebrate, and Reunion Island plans to do just that. The festivities will being with an opening ceremony on Friday, June 7, at 1900 hours at the Cinepalmes Sainte-Marie.

This year, World Oceans Day commemorates discovery and pleasure. On the one hand, it recognizes the desire for the democratization of science and practice, in order to make them accessible to all and thus encourage vocations in the field. On the other hand, the day is designed to raise awareness of the cause of the vital aspect of the ocean and to act to preserve it. These are the ambitions of this yearโ€™s World Oceans Day.
