BEIJING, China – At its 2012-2013 annual gala in Vancouver to thank its partners in Canada on March 8, 2013, Air China announced that starting May 17, it will extend its Beijing-Vancouver schedule by adding another flight CA997/8, which will operate on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday with A330-200. The new addition will bring Air China’s number of weekly Beijing-Vancouver flights to 11.

The new Beijing-Vancouver flight will meet increasing market demand, offering passengers another convenient travel option and more benefits. At the gala, Air China Vancouver General Manager Xu Junhong presented the “2012 Outstanding Performance Award” to over 10 travel agents in Canada, saying Air China will continue to give partners full support and help facilitate China-Canada exchanges.

Mr. Yuan Zhanling, Commercial Counsellor of the Consulate General of China in Vancouver, said that having operated the Vancouver route for 25 years, Air China has made โ€‹โ€‹important contributions to furthering China-Canada economic and cultural exchanges, and he spoke in glowing terms of Air China’s services and products.

Mr. Grant Lin, Air China Lifetime Platinum Member, President, Yuanheng Holdings Ltd. and Chairman of Fujian Provincials Canada Association, also delivered a speech. He said Air China has been providing very good services and he looks forward to the new flight and the aircraft to be used to operate the flight.

The gala was held at Rosewood Hotel Georgia in downtown Vancouver. Over 120 guests from government, travel agencies, partner organizations and media were invited to the gala. Beautiful gifts were prepared for the guests. Big prizes like round-trip Vancouver-Beijing tickets were presented to winners.
