Seychelles and the Belgium’s province of Namur have signed joint agreement pertaining to future cooperation between both parties. The cooperation agreement was signed between Seychelles Minister for Tourism and Culture, Alain St.Ange ,and the Governor of Namur Province from Belgium, Denis Mathen.

Signing the agreement, Minister Alain St.Ange said that the binding document “opens up new avenues of cooperation between Seychelles and Belgium.”

“The Province of Namur gained its strength from its reputed Hotel School. It is one area where students and teachers from the Seychelles Tourism Academy stand to benefit through the signing of this cooperation agreement. The joint agreement set the baseline for future cooperation between Seychelles and Belgium. Both parties will then determine specific areas, and both parties will set the way forward for mutual cooperation between both of our countries,” said Minister St.Ange.

Governor Mathen from the Province of Namur in Belgium and Minister St.Ange from the Seychelles met a few months ago when the Seychelles Minister was on a working visit to Belgium. After his meeting in Namur with Governor Mathen, it was agreed that Belgium would be sending a delegation to participate in the Carnaval International de Victoria. “This is a clear testimony of the extra mile that Belgium is willing to go to strengthen its working relationship with Seychelles,” Governor Mathen said after welcoming Minister St.Ange to his official residence in Namur.

Mr. Alain St.Ange said after the signature of the MOU that “it is important for Seychelles and the Province of Namur to continue to develop further on the working partnership we have today formally launched.”

The Governor of the Province of Namur, Denis Mathen, said that he is convinced “in the fruitful deliberation of the cooperation agreement. The signing of this cooperation agreement is a win-win for Seychelles and for the Province of Namur.”
