The WTM Global Award is in recognition of Kerkar’s remarkable contribution to the region’s travel and tourism industry.
On receiving the award, Kerkar said, “This accolade is not about me but a tribute to all the staff, past and present, who have made Cox and Kings a tremendous success for the past 250 years.”
Peter Kerkar has transformed Cox and Kings from a small UK tour operator into one of India’s largest travel companies providing high-class international and domestic travel through its Indian offices and global subsidiaries based in UK, Japan, UAE, and Singapore. His innovative contributions to the Indian travel industry include being a founder member of the Word Travel and Tourism Council, India through to introducing the country’s first pan-Indian luxury train, soon to be launched in partnership with the Indian Railways.
