Alaska Airlines launches nonstop service between San Diego and Orlando

SEATTLE, Wash. – Alaska Airlines today launched nonstop service between Orlando, Fla., and San Diego. The carrier will fly between the two cities five times a week.

“We’re thrilled to launch our fourth new market in San Diego this year alone,” said Joe Sprague, Alaska Airlines’ vice president of marketing. “Alaska’s new flight is well-timed to not only serve our San Diego customers but also to provide convenient connections for customers between Orlando and Honolulu.”

“Until now, San Diego had been our largest underserved domestic market. But thanks to Alaska Airlines and today’s inaugural flight, we now have a direct link connecting this vital market to our world-class attractions and emerging medical industry,” said Phil Brown, executive director of the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority.

The flights will be operated on Boeing 737-800 aircraft, accommodating 16 passengers in first class and 141 in the main cabin.
