Relief Riders International, an award-winning humanitarian-based adventure travel company, has announced the dates of three upcoming rides for the 2012/2013 season.
Since 2004, Relief Riders International has been organizing horseback riding expeditions that combine outdoor exploration and adventure, cultural discovery, and the unique opportunity to assist in a variety of humanitarian efforts. Participants, known as “Relief Riders,” are led on exhilarating journeys through beautiful remote areas of Rajasthan, India, where they can experience the sights, sounds, and tastes of India, while also giving back to the communities they’re visiting through life-changing medical, educational, and food aid.
The company has announced its next three Relief Rides, scheduled for November 2012, and February and March of 2013. The first ride, slated for November 13-28, will explore the region of Pushkar, while the February ride will cover the Bikaner area from the 2nd through the 16th. The final ride, which will take place from February 25 through March 10, will tour the region of Chanod, Rajasthan.
The rural terrain covered on each journey is diverse and offers breathtaking contrasts, from sweeping desert dunes to farmed fields, to mountains and vast expanses of sprawling moonscapes. There are also plenty of opportunities to witness wildlife along the way. Coupled with the astounding scenery and cultural experiences, riders will also have the chance to lend a hand with various service programs, such as distributing educational material to local school children, assisting at dental and vision camps, and delivering livestock to families who qualify through RRI’s Give a Goat program.

Over the past 9 years, RRI has performed 15 relief missions and developed 6 humanitarian/medical programs, through which they provide free eye surgery, dentistry, educational materials, pediatric care, and livestock to communities in need. To date they have helped over 20,000 people, 15,600 of which were children. The company also recently announced their sustainable giving programs, through which they will be providing year-round support for women and children living in the slums of Jaipur, Rajasthan.
