ISLAMABAD, Pakistan (eTN) – Three founding organizations of The Region Initiative (TRI) have been rated in the UNWTO Compendium of Best Practices and Recommendations for Ecotourism in Asia and the Pacific.

Said a TRI spokesman, “We appreciate UNWTO for this encouragement and appreciation, and this also confirms that TRI has the potential to work very closely with UNWTO in the future if it is provided that chance.”

The three founding organizations of TRI that have been rated in Compendium of Best Practices and Recommendations for Ecotourism in Asia and the Pacific are the Sri Lanka Ecotourism Foundation, Ecotourism Society Pakistan (which holds an office of the TRI in Pakistan), and Dream Nepal Travels & Tours Pvt. Ltd. are all listed in the UNWTO publication.

This is great privilege for TRI, with the Sri Lanka Ecotourism Foundation the head organization of TRI in South Asia, the Ecotourism Society Pakistan hosting the TRI office, and Dream Nepal being the TRI country organization in Nepal.

The Region Initiative is a member of the International Council of Tourism Partners (ICTP), a fast-growing grassroots travel and tourism coalition of global destinations committed to quality service and green growth.
