HRH Prince Sultan bin Salman bin Abdul Aziz, President of the Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiquities (SCTA), on Sunday, August 26, received a check of financial support from Boeing, the American aircraft company, to hold the “Saudi Archeological Masterpieces through the ages” exhibition in the United States of America.

This prestigious roaming exhibition will be held under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, based on a Royal approval for holding the exhibition in a number of European capitals and American cities.

HE Abdul Qadir Jazzar, President of Boeing-Saudi Arabia, handed the check to HRH President of SCTA for the exhibition to be hosted in the Smithsonian Museum in Washington, DC, before its launch in four other museums across the United States of American.

HRH President lauded the support provided by Boeing for hosting the exhibition in the US, explaining that the hosting of this exhibition in the United States represents a significant recognition to the cultural position that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia enjoys, especially since the exhibition will play an important role in the promotion of cultural relations between the Kingdom and the United States of America.

HRH President of SCTA, further stated that, holding the exhibition in five US states, starting from Washington, DC, represents an important opportunity to inform the American people and the international public, in addition to the influential American media, about the historical and cultural dimension of the Kingdom, since the Kingdom occupies most of the Arabian Peninsula, and it was the crossroad of ancient trade routes, as well as a home to successive civilizations that have contributed to the shaping of the human history.

Among several other goals, the exhibition aims to reflect the cultural dimension of the Kingdom, which is still unknown compared with the Kingdom’s other well-defined dimensions, such as the political and economic dimensions; in the forefront of them is its Islamic dimension and its present weight as the regional and international economic giant that has enabled it to be a member of the G-20 countries.

President of Boeing-Saudi Arabia, HE Al Jazzar, for his part said: โ€œThe relations of Boeing with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia extends to over 65 years, when US President Franklin D. Roosevelt had met His Majesty King Abdul Aziz in 1946, and President Roosevelt had presented a DC-3 Dakota as a token of friendship to King Abdul Aziz, which formed the basis and the beginning of the aviation world in the Kingdom. Our relation today with SCTA comes within this historic relation between the two nations.โ€

HE Al Jazzar commend the extraordinary and continuing efforts of His Royal Highness Prince Sultan bin Salman bin Abdul Aziz, President of SCTA, for raising the national and international awareness on the history and heritage of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
