UK – International venue finding agents HelmsBriscoe have teamed up with NewcastleGateshead Convention Bureau to bring even more conference business to the destination.

A meeting of key agents from HelmsBriscoe offices in the UK, Germany and the United States will descend on NewcastleGateshead next week to see for themselves what the region has to offer conference organizers, meeting planners and delegates.

Jessica Roberts, head of business tourism at NewcastleGateshead Convention Bureau, said, “NewcastleGateshead is relatively undiscovered for a lot of agents. We very much welcome the opportunity to show them what we have to offer them in the way of fantastic venues, accessibility, the legendary warm welcome and an unrivaled choice of entertainment to create memorable social programs. We are keen to work with agents to help them bring more clients to the region.”

During their visit, the agents will stay at the Newcastle Marriott Gosforth Park, hold a meeting at the Copthorne Newcastle, take in a presentation from directors of the new Radisson SAS Hotel Durham and take a tour around the Hilton NewcastleGateshead.

Kate Thompson, sales director, joined HelmsBriscoe as an associate in early 2007 and is based in Gateshead. Kate said, “I set up the meeting in NewcastleGateshead to show my fellow associates and the executive team what the area has to offer and dispel some of the myths of the area such as poor accessibility and bad weather. I am passionate about HelmsBriscoe and creating something different and interesting for our clients. I am keen for my colleagues to experience what the region has to offer so that they can pass this on to their clients”.
