Icelandair to Terminate BWI Operations

COLUMBIA, Md. (TVLW) – Icelandair will terminate services from Baltimore-Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI), effective January 13, 2008, due to escalating costs and decreasing revenues. “We are fine-tuning the Icelandair route network and our capacity in an effort to increase profitability,” said Jon Karl Olafsson, president and CEO of Icelandair.

Mid-Atlantic area travelers may be accommodated on Icelandair’s flights to Iceland and beyond via Boston and New York-JFK, where additional flights will expand capacity up to two flights daily in peak season next year.
