Under the patronage of Jordan Prime Minister Dr. Fayez Tarawneh, the second annual Citadel Nights graced Citadel Hill with over 1,300 attendees, including many Jordanian ministers, among them HE Nayef Al Fayez, Minister of Tourism & Antiquities.

The event, which is in its second year running and will continue to be held annually, will run for the rest of the holy month of Ramadan, with planned activities every day for the remainder of the month. Talal Al Ragheb, Jordanian musician and composer, performed on opening night on July 22, 2012.

The event has seen an immense growth, with more visitors, more service providers, and more performers this year. Twelve cafes are providing visitors with services, compared to four cafes last year, while the number of vendors has increased to 60, compared to 40 last year. This proves the success that Citadel Nights has accomplished over the past 2 years.

Citadel Nights is a continuation of the summer activities and events held in Amman and Jordan, running in conjunction with the Jerash Festival, which started on July 4, 2012.

Despite regional turbulence, Jordan remains secure and stable, showing an increase in visitor numbers and travelers that are enjoying Jordanโ€™s offerings.
