EVA launches Hello Kitty Speed Puff Jet to Tokyo, Hong Kong

EVA Air launched its new Hello Kitty Speed Puff Jet from Taipei to Tokyo on Friday (June 22, 2012) and then deployed it on an evening flight to Hong Kong.

EVA Air launched its new Hello Kitty Speed Puff Jet from Taipei to Tokyo on Friday (June 22, 2012) and then deployed it on an evening flight to Hong Kong. Hello Kitty and Daniel characters joined EVA officials at the Taoyuan International Airport departure gate to see passengers off on a fun flight. One of EVAโ€™s Airbus 330-200s, the Hello Kitty Speed Puff Jet is colourfully painted with free-floating clouds, whisking passengers through blue skies on a smooth, cheerful flight.

EVA is operating its Hello Kitty Speed Puff Jet on regularly scheduled flights to Tokyo in the mornings and Hong Kong in the evenings. EVA flight BR2198 departs Taoyuan at 08:50 (8:50 am) and arrives in Tokyoโ€™s Narita International Airport at 13:15 (1:15 pm). Return flight BR2197 leaves Narita at 14:15 (2:15 pm) and gets back to Taoyuan at 16:50 (4:50 pm). The Hello Kitty Speed Puff Jet then flies to Hong Kong as BR857, leaving Taoyuan at 18:10 (6:10pm) and landing at 19:50 (7:50 pm). Return flight BR858 departs Hong Kong at 21:00 (9:00 pm) and gets back to Taoyuan at 22:40 (10:40 pm).

Since October 2011, EVA has introduced five Hello Kitty Jets, all with different livery themes. The Magic, Apple, Global, Happy Music and Speed Puff Jets are all now operating on regularly scheduled service between Taipei and both Tokyo airports, Narita and close-in Haneda, Chitose (Sapporo), Fukuoka, Hong Kong, Seoul, Guam and Shanghaiโ€™s close-in Hongqiao International Airport. In addition to more than 100 passenger-service items, EVA and the Sanrio Co. Ltd. have worked together to create charming duty-free selections for travelersโ€™ in-flight shopping pleasure.
