The Seychelles Tourism Board is moving ahead with innovative ideas, and they have this time joined forces with David and Marsha Clarke to stage the Seychelles International Mind Body Spirit Festival.

Spa and wellness has moved expectations in the field of holiday travel. The luxury of a couple of years ago is not the norm for tourism destinations with a difference. The mid-ocean islands of the Seychelles have always been following needs and expectations of their discerning visitors. โ€œIt is then management with a spirit of innovation that has kept Seychelles ahead,โ€ said a journalist when he was being briefed on the coming Seychelles International Mind Body Spirit Festival.

Alain St.Ange, the Seychelles Minister responsible for Tourism and Culture, issued a message for the launch of the Mind and Body Spirit Festival. The Ministerโ€™s message shows clearly that the government of Seychelles stand behind the private sectorโ€™s tourism drive.

Minister St.Ange addressed his message to both the residents of the islands and to the visitors of Seychelles alike:

โ€œIt is my pleasure to invite you to explore another innovative product to feature on Seychelles’ calendar of events as of 2012.

โ€œThe Festival is a new perspective on the increasingly popular mind, body, and spirit festival theme that continues to gain popularity around the world.

โ€œThis festival will help firmly establish Seychelles as one of the purest, healthiest and cleanest destinations.

โ€œThe Seychelles Festival, however, will see a new twist on the original theme with the events and exhibitors not only on the main island of Mahe, but spread out across a number of our โ€˜beauty spots.โ€™ This takes place over a 10-day period, thus enabling visitors and Seychellois alike to enjoy topics such as: de-stress and self-empowerment techniques for the mind; spa, pampering, and gentle physical exercises like Tai Chi, Yoga, and Pilates for the body. For the spirit โ€“ opportunities to work with both international and Seychellois artists and musicians – and all this whilst enjoying the finest eco-friendly environments that Seychelles is renowned for.
โ€œI hope you enjoy this refreshing event,โ€ Minister Alain St.Ange writes in his message.

On his part, David Clark, the Festival Director, is inviting everyone to meet at 0930 hours sharp on Monday, June 18, at The Station, at Sans Soucis on Mahe island for the Nature Seychelles-led โ€œHealthy Hikeโ€ up Copolia.

โ€œI think that it should be mandatory that all staff remotely connected to helping this exciting festival event see the light of day, should be given the opportunity to take part in this hike so that one day – when Seychelles is well and truly recognized as the โ€˜Worldโ€™s Wellness Centerโ€™ – they will be able to say, โ€˜I was there!โ€™โ€

The official opening of the Seychelles International Mind Body Spirit Festival will take place on Monday, June 18 at 1300 hours.
