We anticipate the new service will be very popular, especially when customers take advantage of great deals when bundling their air, hotel, and car rental.”

“Allegiant’s announcement today that it will be adding an additional seven weekly flights is good news for Hawaii’s tourism economy,” said Mike McCartney, President and CEO of the Hawaii Tourism Authority, “We anticipate the flights to provide up to US$86.6 million in visitor spending and US$9.4 million in tax revenue annually. The regional cities that these new flights will service provide greater opportunity for travelers in the US West, our largest market, to visit the Hawaiian islands. Allegiant’s two new flights servicing Kahului will also help to distribute the benefits of tourism across the state. We wish Allegiant success on their new flights and look forward to working with them in building their presence in Hawaii.”

“The addition of Allegiant as a carrier to the Hawaiian islands signals increased confidence in our market at a time when visitor arrivals are en route to another peak year,” said Hawaii Governor Neil Abercrombie, “Allegiant’s arrival will help meet this demand and provide additional options that are sure to be welcomed by Hawaii residents and visitors seeking the best value for vacation and business travel budgets.”
