Sierra Leone becomes newest destination member of ICTP

The International Council of Tourism Partners (ICTP) announced that the National Tourist Board of Sierra Leone has become its most recent destination member.

The International Council of Tourism Partners (ICTP) announced that the National Tourist Board of Sierra Leone has become its most recent destination member. This makes the sixth member to join ICTP from Africa.

Sierra Leone is a tropical paradise of rain forests and breathtaking landscapes, numerous waterfalls, mysterious lakes, splendid hills and mountains, and beautiful unspoiled beaches along the Atlantic Ocean. Sierra Leone also offers the discerning visitors her rich heritage, history, and culture that blends with modernity where sophistication happily co-exists with nature to create a unique harmonious ambience.

The National Tourist Board, in collaboration and in partnership with other public and private sector stakeholders โ€“ having recognized potentials and opportunities the tourism industry has in enhancing the socio-economic development of Sierra Leone, are making considerable efforts in improving on the supporting infrastructures, facilitates, sites, attractions and enhancing service delivery for its very special visitors.

Juergen T. Steinmetz, President of ICTP, said: โ€œThe National Tourist Board of Sierra Leone is putting its focus on the development of more eco-tourism products. It is an emerging destination blooming with natural and scenic beauty – an undiscovered paradise in a peaceful and tranquil atmosphere.
