LA MASSANA, Principality of Andorra – As has been widely recognized, snow and mountain tourism, as a rapidly-growing and dynamic segment of the tourism industry, is facing challenges and it needs to re-position itself in the marketplace by clearly identifying the diversity and multiplicity of variables which will influence the future of this sector. Therefore, since 1998, UNWTO, in collaboration with the Principality of Andorra has been organizing the World Congress on Snow and Mountain Tourism every two years. The 7th edition of this congress will take place in La Massana (Andorra) on April 11 and 12, 2012.

The Congress aims to provide a global insight into the priorities of snow and mountain tourism by focusing mainly on the strategic tools for promotion and marketing and the effective use of IT within this context. It will be a very useful initiative to create a professional platform for debate and to launch a shared vision among the related stakeholders for the future of the snow and mountain tourism industry.
