The Notting Hill Carnival Roadshow Company has confirmed that they will be present again this year at the “Carnaval International de Victoria” in the Seychelles. They have also confirmed that they will be presenting a new set of costumes at the 2012 Seychelles “Carnaval International de Victoria.”

The 40-person delegation will be flying into Seychelles to take center stage of the mid-ocean unique carnival staged annually in the Seychelles. “From the freezing temperatures following the ‘2012 Big Freeze,’ the romantic and paradise islands of the Seychelles will be a welcomed break for the Londoners,” Alain St.Ange, the CEO of the Seychelles Tourism Board, said.

Last year, the Notting Hill Carnival delegation pulled the first prize for the international delegations attending the “Carnival of Carnivals” in Seychelles. They were followed by Zimbabwe, with Indonesia taking third place. This year, the completion will be tougher with the Dusseldorf Carnival from Germany participating with a 50-plus person delegation, and the Brazilians from Rio have also enlarged the size of their delegation, as are Trinidad & Tobago.

The spectacular and very colorful costumes worn by the Notting Hill Carnival delegation were well-liked by the islanders from the Indian Ocean Islands.

Marymonde Matatiken, the Manager of the “Celebrate Seychelles” Events Department at the Seychelles Tourism Board, confirmed that the number of international delegations had now gone over the 30 mark and that still more delegations were rushing to be registered in time.
