Louis D’Offay, the Chairman of the Seychelles Hospitality & Tourism Association, and Raymond St.Ange, his Executive Director, hosted members of the Seychelles tourism industry on a cruise to mark the start of 2012.

Alain St.Ange, CEO of the Seychelles Tourism Board, and several of the board team members for their Marketing, News Bureau, and Celebrate Seychelles Events Department, also joined the cruise alongside Nirmal Shah of Nature Seychelles and members of his team.

Louis D’Offay explained that it was important for members of the industry, which remains the pillar of the Seychelles economy, to get to know each other and that there was no better way for this to happen than in such social gatherings. Raymond St.Ange, on his part, acted as Master of Ceremony keeping members of the tourism industry amused, as the Catamaran Cruiser, provided by Mason’s Travel, left Port Victoria at 6:00 pm enroute to the Marine Park Islands for a dinner cruise.

“The tourism industry is facing its own challenges, and 2012 will need to see members rally for the cause of defending the industry and for promoting the islands as THE tourism destination,” Louis D’Offay said as he thanked industry members for making the effort to show solidarity among industry members.

Alain St.Ange said that it was pleasing to see members of the country’s tourism industry spending time together. “Togetherness is the key for success. A united industry is the best recipe when faced with new challenges,” Alain St.Ange said.

The Mason’s Travel Catamaran Cruiser returned to Port at 10:30 pm, with several members dancing, as the boat docked at the Marine Charter Association Quay.
